Our Story
Field hockey has been an integral part of our household ever since our little girl picked up a stick at the age of six. Not only did the sport supply enough enjoyment to last a lifetime, but it also provided and still provides our daughter with access to numerous opportunities. We are forever grateful for the connections and relationships we have made over the years with inspiring people and programs both on the national and international stage.
Additionally, our family has experienced numerous opportunities - world travel, scholarships, college, education, life skills including teamwork, accountability, and more - thanks to the sport we cherish. Our hope is to take action, create change and help others, especially our underserved youth, by giving them access to some of those same connections and opportunities.
Field hockey is underrepresented in underserved areas, but can be a vehicle for opportunity.
Field Hockey Connects (FHC) aims to bring opportunities to underserved areas by connecting local community leaders and community centers with influencers in the field hockey community through the game. FHC has a goal to help create and support sustainable field hockey programs in underserved areas, thereby, creating consistent access and exposure to opportunities that can help shape the future of our underserved youth.
Our Mission
Our mission is to connect local community partners with field hockey influencers to take action and create positive change for our underserved youth. We do this by supporting the development of sustainable local field hockey programs designed to create consistent access to opportunities that add value to their future.
Our Shield
Our shield symbolizes how we will complete our mission. Regardless of background or color, each stick has its turn in front to shine and be first in line to take advantage of opportunities. The FHC being the base of the shield shows how we will support all, regardless of background or color, by creating access to these opportunities through a solid foundation of connections between local community leaders and field hockey influencers.
